PATNA - Two suspected Maoists were killed in a gun battle with police in Bihar’s Munger district Thursday morning, an official said.

Security forces, including the Central Reserve Police Force, surrounded an area near a forest after a tip off that more than 100 Maoists had gathered there, a police official said.

In the gun battle that followed, the Maoists were killed, he added. Munger is about 160 km from here.

Police also recovered arms and ammunition from the site and are hunting for other Maoists.
