BHOPAL - An alert has been sounded in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat and Sidhi districts where 30 to 40 Maoists are believed to have sneaked in from neighbouring Chhattisgarh, a top police official said Tuesday.

“An alert has been sounded in Balaghat and Sidhi districts following intelligence reports that around 30 to 40 Naxals (Maoists) have sneaked into these two places, which are close to Chhattisgarh,” Director General of Police S.K. Raut told reporters here.

Raut said he had talked to Inspector General of Police (Balaghat) C.B. Muniraju and Inspector General of Police (Rewa) G.R. Meena and asked them to keep a vigil and carry out intensive patrolling.
