NEW DELHI - The US is interested in fast and decisive justice for the victims of the Mumbai terror attack, US envoy Timothy J. Roemer said Thursday after Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab was sentenced to death.

“The US is very interested in justice. Swift, resolute justice for these people,” Roemer told reporters here.

“With respect to how India’s judicial system decides between life and death, that is something the US respects your judicial system, your process and your decision,” he said.

Roemer said he could never forget the trauma of “going to the Taj Hotel (in Mumbai) and meeting the general manager who lost his entire family” to the terrorists who attacked the iconic seafront hotel.
