Three Maoists gunned down in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR - Three armed Maoist guerrillas were killed Tuesday in two separate gunfights with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s restive Bastar region, officials said.

Two rebels were killed in Narayanpur district in Benur’s forested stretch in a gunfight with a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the police, an official said.

In a separate incident, a rebel was shot dead by CRPF personnel in Bijapur district.

Police have recovered the bodies of the three ultras, the official said.
