Bangladesh’s cooperation on terror crucial to India: US

DHAKA - The issue of counter terrorism and Bangladesh’s cooperation on it were “crucial to India”, US Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg has said.
Steinberg said: “It seems a tremendous confidence has been built between Bangladesh and India.”
Stressing on deepening cooperation between Bangladesh and India, he said it will provide greater security for the citizens of both countries, and the US government appreciates the efforts made by both to do more together, The Daily Star reported.
“Threat of terrorism knows no boundary and it’s a common enemy, common challenge, and we all need to work together,” he told the media here Thursday after his meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other leaders, ending his visit to the country.
He said a deepening cooperation between Bangladesh and India would provide greater security for citizens and “we are appreciative of the efforts Bangladesh and India have made as we can do more together”.
