BAGHDAD - At least 14 people were killed and 23 injured Friday when five separate blasts shook the Iraqi capital targeting several mosques, according to security sources and witnesses.

Two car bombs detonated in the al-Horriya and al-Rahmaniya areas, another bomb targeted people praying in al-Sadr city, and another went off inside a shopping mall in the al-Dora area.

A fifth blast came in a suicide bombing near a mosque in the al-Amin area.

The series of bombings in Baghdad came after six blasts shook the town of al-Khalidiya, 80 km west of the capital, Friday in which seven members of one family were killed.

Six bombs went off next to houses of two businessmen, a judge and police patrols in al-Khalidiya. One of the blasts killed a businessman, his wife and their five children, security sources said.
