One dead in Pakistan blast

PESHAWAR - A child was killed Monday and at least 11 schoolchildren were injured in a powerful car bomb explosion outside a school in Pakistan’s Peshawar city, an official said.

The blast took place outside the Police Public School situated on Khyber Road, Geo News reported.

The injured, mostly students from the school, were rushed to Khyber Teaching Hospital where one of them succumbed to injuries, the medical superintendent was quoted as saying.

At least two vehicles and some shops were destroyed in the blast.
