CHANDIGARH - Hotels, restaurants, guest houses, multiplexes and cinemas here have been told to put up CCTV cameras on official advice to ensure better security.

“We have instructed owners and proprietors of all hotels, multiplexes and places frequented by a large number of people every day to install CCTV cameras,” Chandigarh administration’s official spokesman said here Friday.

“The orders have been issued in view of the recent terrorist strikes in the country and inputs received from intelligence agencies,” the official said. “CCTV cameras should cover entry, exit, reception and parking lots.”

The order comes into force Friday.
