Maoist rebel killed in Jharkhand

RANCHI - A Maoist rebel was shot dead in a gun battle with police in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district Saturday morning, police said.

The body of Sunil Gorai was recovered after the gunfight near Banporia village under Patmda police station of the district, around 160 km from Ranchi.

According to police, Gorai was commander of “Dalma Firing Squad” of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
