India condemns Moscow metro bombings

NEW DELHI - India Monday condemned the “horrendous” suicide explosions targeting Moscow\’s metro rail network and underlined its solidarity with Russia in the wake of these terror attacks.

“We stand by Russia in its hour of tragedy and condemn terrorism in all forms and countries,” External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna told reporters here.

“These were horrendous attacks. We sympathise with those who have died and suffered,” Krishna said.

At least 35 people died after two female suicide bombers blew themselves up on Moscow Metro trains in the morning rush hour. This is the worst terror attack in Moscow since 2004.

India and Russia actively cooperate in the area of counter-terrorism.

Russia was amongst the first countries to come out strongly against the 26/11 Mumbai
