JAMMU - A suspected Pakistani infiltrator was killed by Indian border guards in Ramgarh sector along the international border Sunday.

A Border Security Force (BSF) patrol party noticed an unusual movement along the barbed wire fence in Ramgarh sector, 45 km south-west of Jammu and challenged the suspected intruders. The infiltrators tried to escape to the Pakistani side.

The security personnel opened fire to stop them. One of the infiltrators was killed, while his accomplice managed to escape, BSF sources said.

The BSF has launched a massive search operation in the area.

The infiltration attempt has come close on the heels of the killing of eight intruders in Keran sector in Kupwara of north-west Kashmir.
