Maoists kill village official

BHUBANESWAR - Maoist guerrillas have killed a village official in Orissa’s Koraput district, police said Sunday.

Gokul Pandu, who worked as Gram Rozgar Sevak under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Balipeta village, was abducted from his home with two other villagers Saturday night. His body was found on a road Sunday, Superintendent of Police Anup Sahu said.

The Maoists released the other two men.
