Maoist arrested in West Bengal

KOLKATA - A Maoist guerrilla was arrested from a forest area in Bankura district of West Bengal, police said Friday.

Anup Lohar, a resident of West Midnapore’s Goaltore area, was nabbed from Simlapal forest late Thursday night with firearms and bullets.

“Lohar was an active Maoist squad member. He had been hiding in the forests of Bikrampur area for the past few months,” a district police officer said.
