KOLKATA - West Bengal Governor M.K. Narayanan will visit West Midnapore districts Salua Friday to meet the bereaved families of Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) personnel who were killed in a Maoist attack Feb 15.

Narayanan will visit the EFR headquarters in Salua to talk to the victims families there. He will head for the destination at 7 a.m. tomorrow (Friday), a senior official at Raj Bhavan told IANS.

He said the governor would return to Kolkata by afternoon.

The bereaved families and friends of 24 security personnel - killed by Maoists in West Midnapores Silda - blocked way and laid siege to the convoy of five state ministers who were going for a gun salute to the slain troopers in the district Feb 16.

The blockade took place at Salua EFR district headquarters when the team of ministers, led by state Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta, reached there.
