Six killed in Pakistan bomb blast

ISLAMABAD - Six people were killed and 12 wounded Monday in a car bomb explosion in Pakistan’s northwestern Mingora city, a media report said.

The blast took place at the Saidu Sharif bus stand in Nishat Chowk. Six shops and eight vehicles were also destroyed, Dawn newspaper reported on its website.

Mingora city is located in the Swat district of North West Frontier Province (NWFP).

Authorities have cordoned off the area and rescue efforts are underway.

Gunshots were heard in the city after the blast.
