NEW DELHI - The cabinet committee on security will meet Monday evening to take stock of the investigations and the security situation in the country following Saturday’s Pune terror attack in which nine people were killed.

A senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the meeting will also review security preparedness of vulnerable states.

Home Minister P. Chidambaram had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday afternoon to review the security situation following Saturday’s bombing in a popular Pune eatery, German Bakery, in which 57 people were also injured.

The home minister, who visited Pune in the morning, briefed Manmohan Singh about his visit and on the state of investigations.
