SANA’A - A state security court in Yemen Tuesday sentenced seven Al Qaeda members to jail terms ranging from five to 10 years, over a plan to attack tourist buses in Sana’a in 2007.

The court convicted the group of planning two attacks on two separate buses carrying Western tourists in the capital.

The attacks were thwarted and the gunmen arrested in Sana’a.

The seven found guilty were present in court as the verdict and sentence were read out, and responded by chanting Islamist slogans, supporting Al Qaeda leader Osama bin-Laden.
