JAMMU - An infiltration bid was foiled early Tuesday when the Border Security Force (BSF) troopers fired at a group of intruders who were trying to enter India through the Kanachak sector in Jammu and Kashmir from the Pakistani side.

BSF troopers also came under heavy Pakistani firing in Kanachak sector, about 30 km north-west of Jammu, when they challenged the infiltrators. The troopers retaliated, a BSF official said.

Pakistani intruders have been attempting to infiltrate into India almost daily this year.
