SRINAGAR - A huge cache of arms and ammunition, including grenades, detonators and over 10 kg of RDX, apparently meant for guerrilla strikes ahead of Republic Day, was recovered Sunday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

“We have recovered 42 under-barrel grenade launchers, 108 grenades, two mines, four wireless sets, 26 batteries, 28 electronic circuits, 30 electric detonators, 13 mortar shells, 2,100 AK-47 rounds and more than 10 kg of RDX,” Kashmir Inspector General of Police Farooq Ahmad said here.

The recoveries were made from Mamoosa village on specific information, the senior police officer said.

“The militants had planned to use these arms and ammunitions for subversive activities around Jan 26,” the officer added.
