Four injured in Maoist attack on Bihar police camp

PATNA - Four policemen were injured as a group of Maoist rebels attacked a camp of the Bihar Military Police (BMP) in the state’s Bhagalpur district Sunday and looted arms, police said.

Of the four BMP personnel injured in the attack, the condition of two was said to be serious and they have been referred to a Patna hospital for treatment.

The rebels, numbering 20 to 25, attacked the camp set up in an area under Akbarnagar police station of the district, more that 150 km from Patna, and took away four rifles and two machine-guns, district police officials said. There were 10-12 BMP personnel at the camp at the time of the attack.
