BJP criticises police for terrorists’ escape

NEW DELHI - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday raised questions on the escape of three Pakistani terrorists, saying the circumstances were “highly suspicious”.
BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters it was “curious that all the three had the same eye problem and were taken to the same hospital.”
The Pakistani nationals, identified as Abdul Razzaq, Mohammad Sadiq (alias Aslam) and Rafaqat Ali, had been sentenced and completed their five-year jail terms Oct 23 last year.
The three were taken to the Guru Nanak Eye Centre of GB Pant Hospital Friday for an eye check-up, escorted by an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) sub-inspector. They reportedly went for lunch in the cycle market at Jama Masjid in old Delhi at 2.30 p.m., but did not return.
Prasad said the circumstances were “highly suspicious” and “raised legitimate questions”.
