Four CRPF troopers killed in ambush in Kashmir

SRINAGAR - Four paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed in a guerrilla ambush in north Kashmir’s Sopore town Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A senior police officer told IANS that a patrol party of the CRPF was ambushed by militants at Warpora locality in north Kashmir’s Sopore town, 54 km from here.

“Two CRPF jawans were killed in the ambush while two died in the hospital. Additional police and paramilitary forces have been rushed to the spot and the area has been cordoned off,” the officer said.

No guerrilla outfit has owned responsibility for the attack.
