Five Maoists held in Jharkhand

RANCHI - Five Maoist guerrillas were arrested from Jharkhand’s Palamau district Wednesday, police said.

Acting on a tip off, the police nabbed the Maoists from Dewan Bigha village of Palamau district, around 160 km from here.

The arrested rebels included sub-zonal commander of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Satyendra Yadav alias Bossji.

Satyendra was accused of blowing up several schools in Jharkhand.

Police seized a rifle, a pistol, three mobile phones, and cash amounting to more than Rs.12,000.
