SRINAGAR - Two guerrillas were killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district Wednesday when the army foiled another infiltration bid, an Indian Army spokesperson said.

The two infiltrators were killed near the Line of Control (LOC), which divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan, in Tangdhar sector.

“Alert troops of the army challenged a group of infiltrating terrorists on our side of the LoC in Tangdhar sector today morning. The terrorists started firing at the troops resulting in a sustained gunfight. Two intruders have been killed in the gunfight.

“Although firing exchanges have stopped in the area, searches are continuing there,” army spokesperson Lt Col J.S. Brar told IANS.
