Moscow, Jan 29 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Visitors were evacuated Saturday from two shopping malls in Moscow after they received a terror threat, police said.
Police evacuated the Mega-Belaya Dacha shopping centre in southeast Moscow after they found a written message saying an explosion would occur at 9 p.m. (1800 GMT), a spokesperson said.
Another bomb threat caused the evacuation of the Mega-Tyopli Stan shopping complex in the southwest of the Russian capital.
The evacuation caused large traffic jams in both the areas.
“Work in the shopping malls was stopped, the buildings are being checked by dog teams. Nearby shops are also being examined. Rescuers, firefighters and ambulance teams are on duty,” the spokesperson said.
Police in Moscow have been put on high alert following the deadly suicide blast at the Domodedovo airport Jan 24 that killed 35 people.
