12 Taliban guerrillas killed in Afghanistan

KABUL - Twelve Taliban guerrillas were killed and six others were injured when their explosive device went off in Afghanistan’s Faryab province, authorities said.
“The militants were busy in making roadside bombs in a compound in Totak village of Ghormach district late Tuesday night. But, suddenly, their explosive material went off. As a result, 12 militants were killed and six others sustained injuries,” a statement of the interior ministry said Wednesday.
The dead include two local commanders of the Taliban.
Faryab province is about 425 km northwest of capital Kabul.
The militants killed in the incident were involved in carrying out roadside bomb attacks in Faryab and the neighbouring Badghis provinces, Xinhua reported.
