Three killed in Bangladesh bomb blast

DHAKA - Three people were killed and two seriously injured Saturday night in a bomb attack on the house of an Awami League lawmaker in Bangladesh, a media report said.
The ruling party lawmaker, Afaz Uddin Ahmed, survived the attack with minor injuries, The Daily Star reported.
Ahmed said two bombs went off at about 8.15 p.m. soon after two visitors entered his house at Taragunia in Kushtia district.
Asmat Ali, acting headmaster of a high school, was killed on the spot, while a person succumbed to his wounds on the way to a hospital. The identity of the other deceased could not be known.
Amir Hamja, a teacher at the same high School who was injured in the blast, said two people entered a room of the house and blasted two bombs, the report said.
Security personnel had cordoned off the area, a senior police official said, adding that investigations were on.
