KUNDUZ - A bomb hidden in a motorbike killed at least eight people in northern Afghanistan Saturday, an official said.

The bomb exploded in a bazaar in Imam Sahib district in Kunduz province, apparently targeting a local militia leader.

Six civilians and two militiamen were killed in the blast and 20 other civilians were injured, said Abdul Rahman Sayedkhili, the provincial police chief.

He blamed enemies of Afghanistan, a term often used by authorities to describe Taliban militants. No insurgent group immediately took responsibility for the attack.
