10 militants killed in Afghanistan

KABUL - NATO-led forces during a patrol in southern Afghanistan’s Helmand province killed 10 militants, Xinhua reported.

“A coalition force conducting a mounted patrol in Helmand province killed more than 10 insurgents and discovered improvised explosive device (IED) materials during combat operations Saturday,” the military alliance said.

Earlier in the day, NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) also confirmed that over 30 militants were killed in the early hours Saturday after its forces repelled insurgents’ attacks on military outposts in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktika province.
