ISLAMABAD - At least eight militants were killed in two US drone attacks in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal area, a media report said Saturday.
A Friday attack targeted a militant compound in Mir Ali town of North Waziristan region, a hub of Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked militants, Geo TV reported.
“A US drone fired four missiles at a compound killing four militants,” a security official said.
Hours earlier, a missile strike killed four insurgents in the region, the report said.
The US military has stepped up drone attacks in Pakistani areas bordering Afghanistan to crush militants attacking Western forces in Afghanistan.
