Two Maoists held in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR - Police in Chhattisgarh Thursday arrested two armed Maoists in the restive Bastar region.

The arrests were made by a joint search party of the Chhattisgarh police and Border Security Force (BSF) in a forested area in Kanker district, some 200 km south of capital Raipur.

Officials at the police headquarters here said the rebels were identified as Manhar and Sukhram.

Reports coming in from Bastar region’s Dantewada and Bijapur districts said that Maoists have dug up key forested roads at several places.
