MANILLA (GaeaTimes.com) — The hostage drama that involving a disgraced policeman, Ronaldo Mendoza and the bus in Philippines ended in tragedy. At least 4 tourists were shot dead in the stand-off . But the question every one is asking is why did he have to do all this. It also looks very astounding as the same man was awarded “10 most outstanding police officers” not so long ago.

Ronaldo was removed from the police force, rather unceremoniously a couple of years ago for participating in illegal arrests, bribery and narcotics violation. It is believed that he took on such a drastic step as he believed that he was framed and wanted reinstatement. The day long drama unfolded in the streets of Manilla as he boarded the bus in full war gear with an M 16 assault rifle. After taking control over the vehicle he threatened to kill hostages in an interview with a local radio channel. He also tried to threaten the SWAT team with killing all the occupants of the bus if the came any closer. But shocking footage shows that the police brought the situation under control after 10 nail biting hours of the hostage threat.

Ronaldo Mendoza was popular in his community as a good man, he was known to pick up money people dropped on the streets and returned it to them. The question why did a man like him, an honest man had to pick up the arm and put peoples life in danger just to get his point across. But it has to be said that he knew what the consequence of his action should have been but still did it. If someone only listened to him then just may be the lives of all the 25 passenger wouldn’t have been in danger.
