BHUBANESWAR - Maoists have killed a villager in Orissa’s Koraput district suspecting him to be a police informer, police said Monday.

Over a 100 armed rebels killed 30-year-old Kendraka Ghansi at Gotiguda village late Sunday, a police officer told IANS.

The Maoists also attacked two other villagers in Gotiguda, nearly 600 km from here, but they managed to escape, the official said.

The police have reached the spot and began investigations, they added.

Leaflets found at the spot indicate that the rebels killed Ghansi, suspecting him to be a police informer, he said.

Orissa’s Koraput district is considered a Maoist stronghold.
