SIMI activist nabbed in Gujarat

GANDHINAGAR - A member of the banned Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) was Tuesday arrested from Vadodara in Gujarat, police said, adding that he was linked to the 2008 Ahmedabad serial bombings.

Saiyed Abidali Musa, a member of the SIMI sleeper cell, was nabbed by the Special Operations Group (SOG), a police official said. He was produced before a court in Vadodara and was remanded to judicial custody.

According to the police, Musa was allegedly connected with the Ahmedabad serial blasts that killed 57 people and left over 150 injured on July 26, 2008,
