ISLAMABAD - Seven people, including three policemen, were killed and 20 others injured in a suicide bomb attack outside the house of a provincial minister in northwest Pakistan, a media report said Monday.

The blast occurred outside the house of Mian Iftikhar, the information minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, in the Pabbi area of Khan Sher Gharhi, Geo TV reported.

The minister and his family remained unhurt. The attack came after his son Rashid Hussain was killed Saturday.

The attacker first tried to force himself into the house, but on being intercepted by a police official, he detonated the explosives.

Heavy contingents of police were deployed in the area after the incident. The injured were admitted to hospitals.

Meanwhile, police said an abandoned car was found near the house of the minister and a bomb disposal squad was called in to search the vehicle.
