ISLAMABAD - At least 10 people were killed and more than 50 injured Friday in a suicide bombing in north-western Pakistan’s restive tribal region along the Afghan border, security officials said.
The bomber, riding a motorbike, detonated his explosives at the main gate of the office of the civil administrator in the town of Yaka Ghund in the Mohmand tribal district, where troops are fighting Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters.
“According to initial reports, between 10 and 15 people have been killed and more than 50 are injured,” said an intelligence official who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “The death toll might rise since severed limbs are scattered everywhere and rescue workers are collecting these.”
