KOLKATA - Suspected Maoists Saturday killed two people in West Bengal’s Jhargram area in West Midnapore district after accusing them of being “police informers”, authorities said.

The guerrillas kidnapped the two men late Friday. Maoist posters, found near the bodies, claimed both of them were police informers, police said.

“We have recovered the two bodies. We have also recovered Maoist posters from the spot,” said Zulfiqar Hasan, inspector general western range.

Maoists are active in West Bengal’s three western districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.
