ISLAMABAD - The safety of NATO vehicles carrying supplies for troops in Afghanistan is not the responsibility of Pakistani security agencies, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said.
Malik told journalists here Wednesday that a detailed report would be out within three days. Initial investigations, he added, revealed that a vehicle and motorcycle were used in the attack, the Online news agency reported.
Gunmen had late Tuesday attacked a NATO convoy at the outskirts of Islamabad, killing seven people and torching several vehicles. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has accepted the responsibility of the attack and said that such attacks would continue in the future.
Malik had directed magisterial inquiry into the incident. He said police have arrested six suspects linked to the attack.
