BANGALORE - K. Unnikrishnan, father of the slain National Security Guard commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, said Thursday there should be no delay in the execution of Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab, sentenced to death for his role in the Mumbai terror attack.
“I don’t want any delay in hanging Kasab. I want it fast-tracked,” he told reporters here, reacting to the death sentence awarded to Kasab.
Sandeep, the only son of Unnikrishnan and Dhanalakshmi, was killed as he led 10 NSG commandos to rescue hostages in the Taj Palace Hotel that was one of the places the Pakistani terrorists attacked.
Sandeep was posthumously honoured with Ashok Chakra.
Unnikrishnan, a retired Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) official, and Dhanalakshmi have created a trust in Sandeep’s memory from the compensation money they received from the government and private donors and use the funds for charity.
