Terrorist brought from Chhattisgarh to Punjab

MOHALI - Punjab police Tuesday brought a terrorist, allegedly having international links, to this town from Raipur in Chhattisgarh, officials said.
According to police, the terrorist was identified as Nirmal Singh alias Nima, a resident of village Bhoma in district Batala, Punjab. He was arrested by Raipur police May 2.
“Nima was working on the directions of a Germany-based terrorist Bhupinder Singh. Nima was also residing in Germany and had come to India a few months back to execute some major unlawful activities in different parts of the country,” said Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, district police chief.
He added: “Earlier, we had arrested two terrorists from Zirakpur town, who were also working on the directions of Bhupinder Singh. We have a strong suspicion that Nima was also in contact with those two terrorists.”
Police officials said that they had got a tip-off that Nima was residing in Raipur and subsequently they informed the local police there.
Nima was presented in the local court here Tuesday and sent in police remand till May 7.
