BHUBANESWAR - A hardcore Maoist was arrested in Orissa’s Rayagada district Thursday and explosives seized from him, police said.
Laba Kimbaka was apprehended during a combing operation in Muniguda area of the district by Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group (SOG) troopers. Two crude bombs, two detonators, land mines, three bundles of explosives and fuse wires were recovered from him.
“He is a cadre member of Bansadhara division. He used to impart arms training to the newly-inducted cadre members. These explosives were meant to target the paramilitary forces as large number of them are in the district,” Rayagada’s Superintendent of Police Anup Krishna said.
Kimbaka has three criminal cases filed against him, police said.
