PESHAWAR - Citing security concerns, the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) government has decided not to extend visas of foreigners studying and teaching in seminaries in the province.

The move comes on the directive of the federal Pakistani government, which is concerned that many seminaries are the breeding grounds for terrorism.

Commissioners, district coordination officers and district police officers have also been directed to collect data on foreign teachers and students living in their respective divisions.

Teachers and students belonging to Afghanistan and other foreign countries would be asked to leave the province after their visas expire, Online news agency reported.
