Four Babbar Khalsa terrorists arrested

KHANNA - Punjab Police said Sunday it had arrested four dreaded militants of the banned terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and recovered weapons and explosives from them.
The four include BKI commander Harmohinder Singh, who was the mastermind in the 2007 Ludhiana cinema blast. The other three were his accomplices and they were staying in a rented accommodation here for the past few weeks.
Police have recovered 3.1 kilogram ofRDX, an AK-47 and a revolver from them.
“Following a tip-off from the family members of Harmohinder, we laid a trap and arrested him and his three accomplices from here Friday night. Harmohinder was one of the most wanted terrorist and he was planning some more terror activities in this region,” Khanna’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Manjit Singh Brar told IANS.
The blast at the Shingar cinema in Ludhiana October 2007 had killed six people and injured several.
According to police sources, Harmohinder had fled to Pakistan after the blast and only returned a few months ago. His wife and other family members stay in Ludhiana.
During the last few months, Punjab Police have arrested over a dozen terrorists and recovered explosives from various places in the state.
