Four CRPF troopers injured in Kashmir grenade attack

SRINAGAR - Four paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured in a separatist guerrilla attack in summer capital Srinagar Sunday afternoon.

Suspected separatist guerrillas lobbed a hand grenade at a CRPF vehicle parked outside the local police station at Zaina Kadal area of old city, police here said.

“The grenade exploded inside the vehicle, injuring four jawans of the 28th Battalion of the CRPF. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment,” a senior police official told IANS.

The area was cordoned off by the local police and the CRPF and searches are being conducted, the police official said. No militant group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet, he added.
