KARACHI - Two people were feared killed and some 30 injured Monday in a powerful bomb blast in the mourning procession being taken out in connection with the Yaum-e-Ashur, police and eyewitnesses said.

The blast occurred in the front part of the central mourning procession near Denso Hall at Jamia Cloth Market triggering a stampede, Geo TV reported.

The security forces have appealed to the people to stay calm and said the procession would continue as scheduled.

Ambulances soon arrived at the blast site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. An emergency has been declared in all hospitals of the city.
