Maoists set new demands for collector’s release

BHUBANESWAR - In a dramatic turn of events, Maoists late Wednesday put forth several new demands for the release of abducted collector R. Vineel Krishna, their mediators said.

“They have set various other demands. They include the visit of the mediators to Malkangiri district. The conditions are not acceptable to us. We appeal them to release the collector as per the deadline of 48 hours (Friday night)”, Dandapani Mohanty, one of the mediators told reporters here.
