Three Maoists from Assam held in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - Three Maoist activists from Assam were arrested in Orissas Sundergarh district Saturday, police said.

They were arrested from Saranda forest area. One of them identified himself as Aditya Bara, central committee member of the Communist Party of India-Maoist.

“We are verifying his claim,” Inspector General of Police (operation) Sanjeev Marik told IANS.

The district headquarters of Sundergarh is about 400 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
