Maoists release five Chhattisgarh policemen

RAIPUR - Maoist militants Friday evening released the five Chhattisgarh policemen they had abducted Jan 25 from a passenger bus in the state’s restive Bastar region.

The Maoists handed over the policemen to a team of social and rights activists led by Swami Agnivesh, in a thickly forested location in states Narayanpur district that falls in the Abujmad area.

The five policemen belong to the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (CAF). They were abducted Jan 25 at gun point by the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in an interior location in Narayanpur district.
