Cop killed, four injured in Peshawar blast

PESHAWAR - A police inspector was killed and four other personnel were injured in an attack launched on a police checkpost and police van by unidentified gunmen in Mathra area on Peshawar’s outskirts early Tuesday,

The police checkpost was destroyed and the van was badly damaged in the attack, The News quoted Geo News as reporting Tuesday.

According to police sources, unidentified gunmen attacked the police checkpost at Pachayanu Garhi first and later blasted a police van by blowing up a remote-controlled bomb planted on its way.

Security in the area has been beefed up.
