After shooting at the wall he collected the cell phones of the students and broke some that rang. He also threatened the principal with a gun when he tried to come into the class. As the stand-off dragged on for six hours, the authorities and the police decided to take action and tried to break into the basement classroom. Before they entered, they heard gun shots and entered to find that Samuel Hengel had shot himself.
